💬 A Few Words About Pricing
The word “tattoo” itself only describes the process of applying a design to the skin — and there are countless variations of what that design could be. So asking “how much does a tattoo cost?” is like asking “how much does a painting cost?” or “how much is a car?”. A better question is: “How much would it cost to get this design tattooed on my body?”
Here’s why an exact price can’t always be given upfront:
Tattooing is a complex process. Everyone’s skin is different, and the same design may take more time on one person than on another. A lot depends on the artist’s skill level — from beginners with DIY machines to seasoned professionals with years of experience and thousands of hours of tattooing behind them.
Different body areas have different types of skin — the neck is not the same as the thigh, and the lower leg is nothing like the back. Even from day to day, the skin’s condition may vary depending on hydration, sleep, weather, blood pressure, even the moon phase (yes, really). All this affects how ink goes into the skin.
Sometimes, during one session, I may need to try multiple needles and machines to get the right result — every body is unique. The same applies to inks: some colors are easier to use, others require more effort. And certain brands or shades might demand different machine settings or needle types altogether.
Now — let’s talk about designs. This is where it gets even trickier. For example, a “Japanese dragon sleeve” sounds like a clear idea, but there are thousands of ways to draw one — different heads, claws, scales, and overall energy. So asking “how much for a dragon sleeve?” is like asking “how much is a house?”. The answer depends on what kind of house you want.
Some designs may look simple but are extremely difficult to execute technically. That’s why I always recommend:
Create a folder (physical or digital) with all the images and references for your tattoo idea. This will help us clarify your vision and speed up the custom design process.
Tattooing is just as demanding as tailoring high-end fashion or composing music — if you’re not sure where to begin, just share your concept and I’ll guide you from there.
Let’s make something meaningful — and make it last.
